Cystoscopy
Cystoscopy is a procedure that allows your doctor to examine the lining of your bladder through a hollow metal tube called cystoscope.
Cytoscope is most commonly used in order to establish the right diagnosis or to carry out a certain therapy procedure.
Bladder tumors and stones can be removed by using the cytoscope.
Besides this, cytoscopy can be used in the following cases:
-to investigate causes of blood in the urine
-to investigate causes of white blood cells or pus in the urine (pyuria)
-to identify and evaluate the extent of mucosal bladder and urinary tract damage
-for histopathological examination (biopsy)
-to examine the diverticulum,tumors or stones in the bladder
-to insert various sounds or catheters for additional diagnostics or desobstruction in urinary tract
