Surgery

Surgery comes from a Latin word (chirurgiae) meaning “hand work”. It is an ancient medical specialty that uses operative manual and instrumental techniques on a patient to investigate or treat a pathological condition such as disease or injury, to help improve bodily function or appearance or to repair unwanted rupture areas.

The history of surgery is as old as the history of humanity and medicine. It is divided into pre-historic, surgery of the old century, surgery of the middle century until the Renaissance and then from Renaissance to modern time and modern surgery.

Only a surgeon who has wide medical education and a good knowledge of technique and technology can successfully do this job.
