Breast reconstruction

Breast reconstruction is a procedure carried out after surgical removal of the breast due to carcinoma. It is one of the most important things in post-operative period combined with anti – tumor therapy.

This intervention is of great importance in helping patients to achieve psychological stability.
Breast reconstruction is planned prior to the operation-at the very moment of establishing the diagnosis.

How is this operation carried out

In some cases when owing to when radical removal of breast is necessary breast reconstruction is planned after the patient had received chemotherapy, x-ray therapy, hormonal therapy,etc.
In such cases breast reconstruction is carried in two separate acts:
-TRAM (transversal Abdominal Musculoaponeurotic Flap)
-DIEP (Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator Flap)
